Business Needs Versus Network Performance- The Lowdown
PR Log (Press Release) –
Nov 27, 2009 – One particular focus is on the in-house IT function. With this in mind, ServerSpace, one of the UK’s leading providers of email hosting, dedicated servers and managed servers, is encouraging businesses to consider outsourcing their servers to a hosting specialist.
A spokesperson from the firm, which also offers managed hosting and colocation, said, “Moving from hardware owned, hosted and managed in-house to an outsourcing provider is a big move – but it can save businesses both time and money, which is a massive advantage in the current economic climate.”
ServerSpace can host your equipment in one of the firm’s London data centre suites. The firm specialises in high-quality, cost-effective hosting, connectivity and telephony services, all of which is supplemented by the excellent customer service offered by the ServerSpace team.
The spokesperson added, “Our data centre suites provide high levels of physical security in addition to very high network availability with dynamic routing to multiple Tier 1 carriers. In addition to flexible bandwidth and billing, our professional engineers are on-hand to provide industry-leading monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
For more information, please visit http://www.serverspace.co.uk, where you can find more information on the range of off-the-shelf and bespoke services available from the firm. The firm can now also be followed on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/smserverspace
About Serverspace: At ServerSpace, we take hosting very seriously, with a range of off-the-shelf and bespoke services from simple equipment hosting to fully-managed services, that will suit your organisation - whatever its size or line of business. Purchasing a Refurbished Desktop Computers
PR Log (Press Release) –
Nov 27, 2009 – Refurbished desktop computers are a great way to get a good deal on a nice computer. By settling for something a little older that has been updated and upgraded, you don’t have to worry about paying full price for something newer and shinier, but no more powerful.
There’s always a catch, though. As easy as it is to get an excellent deal with a refurbished desktop, it’s just as easy to be taken for a ride by someone who thinks you don’t know what you need.
We’re not saying you shouldn’t try to get a refurbished desktop, by all means, it’s a great idea, but you can’t simply buy a refurbished desktop at random and think it’s going to be a good deal just because it’s cheap. So proceed, but proceed with caution. Here are a few simple rules to keep in mind before spending any of your hard earned money on a refurbished desktop computer.
Look in your closet!
Before you spend any cash on a newer computer, see if you have anything in your old stuff you can work with. A lot of your old computers you haven’t used in years still have a lot of good, useful parts in there. Maybe you just need a desktop with a little faster speed. Well, why bother getting a new one, when you can just take the RAM out of an old rig and stick into your current computer? You could also borrow old graphics cards and modems to save cash on upgrading your new desktop. Which brings us to the second rule…
You’re gonna need to upgrade!
A refurbished computer is never going to be your dream computer. Sorry, but somebody had to say it. Rather, it will be your potential dream rig. Sort of like a house that’s almost perfect, until you remodel the kitchen, at which point it’s the home you’ve always dreamed of. Settle for a little less than what you’re after, and then spend a few bucks getting it into the perfect condition for whatever you have in mind.
Cut corners!
Do you really need a new monitor? Do you need a new mouse and keyboard just because you’re getting a new desktop tower? Nope. Go ahead and scavenge whatever you can from your older computers before spending too much on a newer, refurbished computer.
And most importantly, know your sources
Make sure you only buy from a source you know you can trust. This would be something like a popular electronics site or a well known auction site. Some guy you met on a message board or some shady character unloading computers from the back of a truck is hardly going to be able to be held accountable if your computer turns out to be a piece of junk!

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Portal Accelerator
PR Log (Press Release) –
Nov 27, 2009 – The Microsoft CRM portal integration accelerator connects business information and customer interactions from Microsoft Dynamics CRM to an organisation’s web experience. With this added capability, an organisation can extend any business processes – such as product registration, to the internet and allow organizations to expand their reach and reduce transaction costs across sales, service and marketing. This accelerator is a foundation piece for delivering portal access to Microsoft Dynamics CRM. All other accelerators with a portal component (eService, Event Management and Partner Relationship Management) will use this framework. This release builds on the eService portal engine and expands to allow customers to configure and expose any CRM entity to an external facing portal.
The default Portal includes a form that can be filled out by your prospective customers and once submitted will add their information into CRM as a Lead record. You could then, for example, build a CRM Workflow to have an email automatically sent to this new Lead/Prospect to welcome them or to provide information regarding the products they may be interested in.
This Web-To-Lead form provides a nice, new CRM feature for relatively little cost of implementation. The true value behind the Portal Integration Accelerator does not stop there however.
With some .Net code modifications, this Portal Site could be extended to allow your Customer Accounts, Vendors, Leads, Contacts, etc. to view the details of any records that are related to them in your CRM system.
An example of how Microsoft crm http://www.pythagoras.co.uk/microsoft_crm.aspx could be used that wasn’t possible in the eService Accelerator would be the ability to expose Web Literature documents to your CRM Portal Customers. Previously, if you wanted to share documents such as Product Lists, White Papers, or FAQ Documents you would have to copy the text of the items into a Knowledge Base Article and share the article via the eService Portal. You are now able to share documents directly with your customers, perhaps by targeting them by industry or any other type of segmentation you may have setup in CRM. This type of focused document distribution could be a great way to promote new products or help your customers find exactly the support they are looking for before they have to call to request it.
The Portal Integration Accelerator provides a set of user controls and functionality for utilizing ASP.NET membership authentication with CRM. ASP.NET Membership allows you to easily add a way to validate user credentials and handle authentication in your ASP.NET application. Using ASP.NET Membership gives you the following built-in functionality:
Creating users
Storing information about users
Authenticating users
Managing passwords

LG Shine ii 2 review
PR Log (Press Release) –
Nov 25, 2009 – The latest LG Shine II from Korean giant LG Electronics appears to be an improvised version of its successful predecessor, LG Shine. Certainly, Shine II is packed up with appealing features prompting AT&T to market it under a two years contract. Let us take a look. Full review http://www.mobilefonereviews.co.uk/phone-reviews/LG-Shin ...
Shine II does not sport any noteworthy change in design, and features same body contours as its predecessor has. It is a sleek sliding type set with glossy silver colour exterior and reveals rounded borders. The display is of 2.2 inch size with a noticeable feature of Multi-Angle Vision, a technology much commonly used in digital cameras. However, the look gets highlighted with logos of both AT&T and LG on the top and bottom of the screen. It is a TFT screen of 240 x 320 pixel resolution and capable of analyzing 256k colours. As usual, the front is occupied by buttons for access to the menu, scroll, and call etc. Shin II is strong on networking. This 3G networking is supported with HSDPA. The 3.6 Mbps HSDPA offers speedy access to the internet. Its feature of 2G networking comes from support of quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900. The set has strong wireless and wired connectivity. As such, it has facilities of Bluetooth and microUSB for transferring files and exchanging data. Support behind good connectivity comes from Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots at 32-48 kbps as well Class 10 EDGE with 236.8 kbps. The capacious phonebook of Shine II can hold 2000 entries with photocall features. Accommodation of dialled, received and missed calls goes for 50 in all. The memory should be making a match with the size of overall accommodation of phonebook entries, photocall features and relevant call data.
Features of entertainment for young users have indeed found a place in Shine II. The programmable equalizer and music memory software in addition to the usual built-in music player is bound to enthuse many to possess the set. Its music player supports formats like MP3, WAV and eAAC+. Besides good music, the entertainment provision extends to enjoying video files with featured media player. MP4, H.263, and H.264 are the video formats taken care of. Further mobile phone reviews can be found at http://www.mobilefonereviews.co.uk
Satisfying the fad for photography, Shine II houses 2 MP camera of 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution with LCD flash. The encouraging feature of this department is presence of built-in picture editing software. Hope the set is going to make a space to win users amongst few more big brands launching their new models simultaneously.

esd electronics, Inc announces the release of its newest software product - esd SAE J1939 Protocol
PR Log (Press Release) –
Nov 25, 2009 – esd electronics, Inc SAE J1939 is a Controller Area Network (CAN) [ISO11898] based protocol developed to provide a standard architecture through which multiple Electronic Control Units (ECUs) on a vehicle can communicate. Based on the extended frame format (29-bit identifier) of the CAN 2.0B specification, it uses a fixed baud rate of 250 Kbit/s.
The esd J1939 Stack design allows quick development of applications supporting the SAE J1939 protocol. Written in ANSI-C code, the esd J1939 Stack provides a maximum level of portability, and supports little- and big-endian systems. It is easily adaptable to different target systems through the modification of #include and #define directives.
esd electronics, Inc designed the primary version of the esd J1939 Stack for systems with existing CAN hardware and with existing function calls (Read, Write, Status, etc.). In addition, esd electronics, Inc. offers a customized source code suitable for any CAN controller as requested.
An SAE J1939 Application Programming Interface (API, Object Code) for Windows will also be available by the end of the year. It works in combination with all esd CAN hardware interfaces, and it includes a J1939 Simulation Tool plus J1939/CAN Monitoring software.
The code includes some very special features to accelerate the implementation task:
The sending of PDN data is managed automatically, i.e. the code handles BAM or RTS/CTS depending on data size and destination. The code also supports automatic broadcasts.
The reception of PGN data in handled by convenient callback functions for easy differentiation between source and types (complete data, data chunk, interruption, etc.) Filtering of PG Numbers and source address is supported.
The Network Management functions support the automatic handling of the Address Claiming process. All four address configuration types (Non Configurable, Service Configurable, Command Configurable, and Self Configurable) are supported.
The code supports multiple devices in a single software instance, configured through a simple #define directive.
The resource specific settings include, to name a few, the maximum number of simultaneous transport protocol transfers, the maximum number of BAMs (BAM queue can be set to consider message priority in case the queue is full), and maximum number of automatic broadcasts.
For further technical information log on to our web site at http://www.esd-electronics-usa.com/CAN%20SAE%20J1939%20P ... or contact Michelle Dzialo at 413-772-3170.
